For my girl

Heart of Crystal

Holding this stone – heavy and translucent

Pristine

Light dancing off in rainbows

 – Fragile

Warming it with your hands

Running  fingers over the smooth surface

Strong – seemingly indestructible

Leaving it to collect dust

  – light breeze clearing the surface

Laying over there alone

Still has a shine,

Light bounces and reflects on the walls

Brilliance can be seen all around

Toying with the weight,

Feeling the gravity pushing down in the palm of your hand

Suddenly the weight vanishes,

Returning with an added pressure upon it’s return

And the lightness of it leaving again,

 – the sparkling chime as it reconnects to your hand

Coolness comes together with warmth

Caress, care and then thrown to the wind

Feel the cool, smooth crystal fall back into your hand,

Warmth transferring again,

Confidently – weightless again

Gravity pulling toward the earth,

 – failure to secure

Pieces left to be collected

irremediable

Putting larger pieces together,

The cracks will still be there

Smoothness interrupted,

Particles missing – drifting away

Into the wind

That same breeze that once cleaned the stone

Creating a layer of dust

 – creating a stratified wall

Fortifying the remains that are healing

Sanding smooth sharp edges – ever so slowly

 – light once again dancing

   Different facets creating new rainbows

Until the time comes again

 Layers will thin

   Walls may falter

That almost smooth stone, that crystal

Will feel the warmth again

 – security
