Sunrise on a wonderful day
Wake up feeling so may things
Knowing that changes are all around
Looking to find a new way

Managing emotions that are so vast
Heart full 
  — Heart broken
Wondering when life will be less… overcast

Warmth rolling down my face
Eyes open; wondering what the day has in store
going through motions
Can’t possibly keep this pace

Feelings of limited time, 
Holding close to my kin
 - grasping, reaching for an anchor
Hoping to keep near what is mine

Pain washing over me in waves
numbing only temporary 
 - finding new approaches 
hoping that I won’t cave

Dark skies lay before me
 I feel like I’m searching endlessly 
looking for a sunrise
Please, God - hear my plea
