With the recent official cancellation of both Chicago Marathon and Marine Corps Marathons, I have to admit the sadness has set in. I have been trying to keep up with running and training. I need to remember that I run for myself, not for the race (although, let’s face it, those are fun). Maybe I need new running shoes… just a thought.
The state of our country has just gotten out of hand, people fighting people for just about anything. I feel like the social isolation that we have gone through has caused so much anxiety in the people of this world, and we have all forgotten that we all have one thing in common… we are all HUMAN. The fear that everyone is feeling is real, and it manifests itself in many different ways for each individual. We are all trying to keep our different boats afloat in this storm in different ways. Please, practice kindness.
I did manage to decide what direction to take as far as furthering my education and enrolled in online classes to learn personal training. Over the past few weeks, I have studied my brains out, and it has paid off. I passed the course and now am getting ready to take the certification exam. I have also picked up a few additional courses to advance my training. I have also learned new ways to work out at home and stay motivated.
